About Bribie Island Library

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Bribie Island Library is located at the corner of First Avenue and Welsby Parade in Bongaree, and provides a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents of and visitors to Bribie Island.

Bribie Island Library houses an extensive Large Type collection, for the many retired residents on the island, but it is also a perfect place to bring the kids. Bribie Library has a monthly after school club for 8-12 year olds, regular program and workshops for teens and, of course, a weekly story time on Wednesdays at 10.00am.

The learning doesn’t end with the kids – Bribie Library hosts many informational workshops, events and displays for adults. Bribie Library also runs a homebound service in which volunteers will deliver library materials to those unable to leave their homes. The library also features internet-connected PCs loaded with useful software should you wish to go online, create a document, or just play a game or two. If you’re looking to improve your computing skills, make sure you inquire about internet and email classes.

Bribie Island Library is home to the Hector Holthouse Reading Room and the Bateman Room, both of which can be hired for a nominal fee by community groups. The Hector Holthouse Room also has gallery space, where many local artists display their works.
